8th September 2009
On this day we start our practice at 4:15 in the afternoon, today the one the trained us is Pak Lily and Pak Badung. The first part was with Pak Badung, he told us to warming up ourselves before the practice. After the warming up we pass the balls to each other so we can make our pass better. The passing was done with pairs, then one person will run backward and pass the ball to the person at front of him as the person at the front of him running towards the person that are passing the ball before. And we will take turn to do that as we reached the side of the soccer field. Not long after we finished our passing practice with our partner Pak Lily called us to join him. As we reached him we saw a field full of obstacle, I have never seen this before so this is the first time that I will be practicing with these kind of obstacle. The obstacles were consisting of jumping lines of metal, zig-zag run, sprint, and then push-ups and last but not least sit-up. We have to do this for five times as we circle the small soccer field. It was very exhausting because I have never come across such training before. Pak Lily called this a physical training to improve our stamina to withstand the game without getting tired easily. When we have good stamina we will have good chances of winning the soccer match. The practice was ended with dividing the teams into two and we played against each other.

1. I increased my awareness of my strength and areas for growth
2. I undertook new challenge
3. I showed perseverance and commitment

On this soccer practices we start at approximately 4 o’clock in the afternoon. We first do the warming up first. The purpose of the warming up was to prevent our body from being cramp while doing the soccer practice. The warming up consist of many activities that I have never come across before such as, kicking our foot high into the air one foot at a time, sprint, zig-zag run, etc. After the warming up, we continue to make a circle then dividing ourselves into groups which the groups inside the circle will pass the ball with the persons that were making the circle. After that the trainer told us to put 3 pairs inside the circle and they will go against each other and try to prevent each other making a completer pass. It was quite hard to do, what makes it even harder was the rain, it was raining that day making it difficult to control the ball because it was slippery. Also it was quite hard to see the person that we have to pass the ball to. After the training we play the game which consists of 6 persons per groups. The group was divided by the trainer so the team was well balanced and has 50-50 chance of winning from another team.

For this last practice of the week before the first quarter break, we practiced similar with the practice that we had on September 8th. We warm ourselves up to avoid cramp of our foot from being happening while practicing. The only difference from September 8th was, it was not really a tiring practice where there were metal that we have to jump. On this practice we just have to do running zig-zag, sprinting, and pass the ball around. After the practice we had a game match.

2nd October 2009
This was the first practice that we had since the quarter one break. We were practicing ourselves for the Gandhi tournament that is going to occurred on the 27th October 2009. The Gandhi cup will be held at BSD, and there will be two teams that are going to play in that tournament from this school. On this practice, we decided to just have a game match since we haven’t play for two weeks because of the school holiday. The game went on for 45-60 minutes, but I do learn one thing that I was pretty good at attacking but I don’t want to do it so often because I usually came back to defend late. Also I learned that we have to be able to work properly with our teammate in order for us to win the match.

6th October 2009
In this soccer practice we were divided into two teams which are team A and team B. But before we had the match between team A and team B, we did our warm up like the usual practice. We sprint, ran zig-zag, jump, and pass ball around. Also we practiced what strategy would be best to be used for the match, and how to defend when we are being attack by the enemy. I learned a lot on this practice by learning what a good strategy to be used on the play. I also learn how to be a goalkeeper that day because I was playing as a goalkeeper at that soccer practice. I wasn’t really good though even though I was able to block several shots but my reflex were not good to be a goalkeeper. The match went on until around 5 past 15, we were all really tired that day.

13th October 2009
This was the last practice that our team going to have before facing the big match at the Gandhi Cup. Before the practice started the sky looks grey and cloudy, as it turned out to just like the sky showed rain began to fell. It was a really big rain, the practice started with so warming up like usual and then the match began with team A versus team B. The match was fun but with the big rain it was pretty hard to control the ball or passing the ball. The water that fell on the grass made the grass slippery and watery making it hard for players to pass the ball to each other. From that experience we I can learn many things such as how to control the ball better when it is in a watery condition. From that I have improved new skills.

17th October 2009
This was the day where the Gandhi cup was being held and the soccer team of SPH Sentul City depart from the dorm at approximately 6 o’clock in the morning. I was very nervous with the match just like the other guys on the team. It was my first tournament since I join the soccer team and I believed it would give me lots of new experience that I have never got before just by practicing on usual practice day. We arrived at the place at 8:30 where the opening ceremony was started a few minutes after we arrived. Our first match was at 9 o’clock which we will be playing with AIS (Australia International School). Even though we won on the first match I didn’t play on it because we ran out of time. But I played on the second and third game. On the third game I was playing as a Defense Mid-fielder, which I have never play on this position before. It was very strange at first but the basic idea was the same which is to counter all the attacks from the middle and support the right and left back. On that day I got much new experience that I couldn’t get just by practicing.

24th October 2009
This is the final day that the SPHSC soccer team will be attending the Gandhi Cup. Our match was against CSA (a football club). This match is important because if my team loses or ties with the other team my team will not play another match and we will only get the 2nd place. But if we win the match we will play other matches and can go to take the 1st place from the two divisions which are divisions A and divisions B. The match started at 9:00 and we arrived at 8:45, so my teams only has 15 minutes of preparation and to set what formation we will be using. Pak Lili decided to use the 2 3 2 formation. At the first half both team played well and each team score 1 goal. At the second half our team really gave the other team hard times because our team kept pushing their defense and there are lots of chances that my team had to win that match. But the outcome of the match is tie for both teams. So after that match we didn’t play again and we went home to SPHSC.

4th February 2010
On this day my school the Sekolah Pelita Harapan Sentul City was helding a sport event called Sport festival. In this event my soccer team decided to play in this event, our coach Pak Lily had sign us up to play in this competition. Other in joining the soccer team I also signed up to be PIC or person in charge. What I have to do is basically helping the student council members to control all the matches whether it is soccer, basketball or modern dance and many more to be going well and hopefully with no disturbance. From joining as a PIC I learned that I have to be commitment for what I have signed up for and I also have to do all my jobs that I was assign.
